U.S. gifts Viet Nam with additional 2.6 million COVID-19 vaccine doses

VGP – The U.S gifts Viet Nam with additional 2.6 million COVID-19 vaccine doses via the COVAX facility.

Half of the latest vaccine donations landed in Ha Noi on October 24 and the rest arrived in Ho Chi Minh City this morning.

To date the U.S. has donated 30.2 million doses, including 12.1 million through the COVAX facility, since the outbreak of COVID-19.

The Southeast Asian nation has administed 72,929,311 COVID-19 vaccine doses, with 21,045,837 having been fully vaccinated.

Earlier, on October 12, the U.S. handed over 77 ultra-low temperature freezers for vaccine storage. The freezers were part of the 111 ultra-low temperature freezers worth US$1 million that the U.S. Department of Defense had promised to donate to Viet Nam
