Deputy PM Hải stands side by side with central region against storm

VGP– Deputy PM Hoàng Trung Hải is personally inspecting the coastal central provinces from Thanh Hóa to Đà Nẵng, the region hit by tropical storm Ketsana.

Deputy PM Hoàng Trung Hải urged local governments to quickly call back boats from the open sea while consolidating infrastructure works.

It is forecast that Quảng Bình Province will face heavy rain and flood, so it should pay attention to protecting water reservoirs and road system, noted the Deputy PM on September 28.

In Quảng Trị, he visited some evacuation sites in Gio Linh District and Đồng Hới Town, requiring local authorities to prepare enough food and other living conditions for refugees.

Deputy PM Hải later arrived in Thừa Thiên-Huế, the province will be swept through by Ketsana’s eye, where he decided to found a command post.

On Tuesday, September 29, the Deputy PM chaired an urgent meeting of the command post in Đà Nẵng City.

The command post required local authorities to strictly observe the evacuation order, allowing no one to go out in bad weather conditions.

All task forces must be ready to respond to any circumstance, stressed Deputy PM Hải.

Tropical storm Ketsana has caused heavy rains, gales at level 11, and strong waves in many provinces in Central Việt Nam. The water level in most rivers here has risen to the alarm level 3. Strong winds have unroofed many houses and uprooted big trees in the region.
