PM Dũng spends first busy day receiving guests in Japan

VGP – PM Nguyễn Tấn Dũng had a busy day full of meetings with Japanese politicians and business leaders right after arriving in Tokyo on November 6 to attend the first Mekong-Japan Summit.

Receiving Japan-Việt Nam Special Ambassador Sugi Ryotaro, PM Nguyễn Tấn Dũng appreciated the Ambassador’s contributions to the comprehensive cooperative ties between the two countries over the past time.  

He acknowledged the necessity to cement and deepen cultural activities for further mutual understanding and trust between Việt Nam and Japan.

PM Dũng also suggested Ambassador Sugi Ryotaro encourage Japanese individuals, organizations, groups, and doctors to join hands in treating Vietnamese handicapped children.

Ambassador Sugi Ryotaro pledged to support the recommendation of the Vietnamese PM.

On the same day, PM Dũng hosted a reception to Mr. Takebe Tsutomu, President of the Japan-Việt Nam Parliamentary Friendship Alliance.

The Vietnamese PM hoped Mr. Takebe Tsutomu to spur the cooperative linkages between Japan and Mekong Sub-region countries, especially in the aspects of infrastructure construction, manpower training, response to climate change and sea level rise.

During meetings with leaders of Japanese big corporations and groups, PM Dũng asserted that the bilateral economic relations have been flourishing and the agreements signed by the two countries’ senior leaders, including the Japan-Việt Nam Economic Partnership Agreement, have been put into reality fruitfully. 

Việt Nam’s domestic investment climate is being considerably bettered in favor of foreign investors, said PM Dũng.

Representatives of the Japanese business community took the occasion to show their admiration for Việt Nam’s fast economic recovery and development.

Mr. Muto Toshiro, former Governor of the State Bank of Japan, attributed the achievements to the effective management of the Vietnamese Government through flexible financial and monetary policies.

The Japanese business representatives expressed their desires to seek further support from the Vietnamese Government, so that they can involve in key investment areas, including transportation infrastructure construction, heavy industries, finance and banking, and electricity.
