State President receives former US counterpart

VGP – Receiving former US President Jimmy Carter who is on a visit to Việt Nam, State President Nguyễn Minh Triết highly valued charitable and humanitarian activities conducted by the guest and his spouse as well as volunteers the Habitat for Humanities International (HFHI).

President Nguyễn Minh Triết stressed the significance of humanitarian activities carried out by former US Presidents in Việt Nam.

He expressed his hope that, Mr. Jimmy Carter would continue helping poor people and coordinate with the Barrak Obama Administration in dealing with global issues for a peaceful and happy world.

Mr. Jimmy Carter stated that, by building houses for the poor in Việt Nam, he hopes to highlight the friendship and cooperation between peoples of the US and Việt Nam.

He revealed that HFHI is planning to build 50,000 houses for poor residents in the Mekong Delta.

The former US President showed his admiration and impression on dynamic development in Việt Nam.
