Gov’t leaders receive outgoing UK diplomat

VGP – PM Nguyễn Tấn Dũng and his deputy, Hoàng Trung Hải, have just hosted separate receptions given to Mr. Mark Andrew Geoffrey Kent, Ambassador of the United Kingdom, who has completed his term of office in Việt Nam.

Both PM Dũng and Deputy PM Hải highly praised Ambassador Mark Andrew Geoffrey Kent for the latter’s efforts and contributions to the development of the Việt Nam-UK relationship which was recently upgraded to a strategic partnership.

The leaders of the Vietnamese Government stated that Việt Nam always places importance on cooperation with the UK and stands ready to work with the Kingdom in mapping out and realizing specific joint action programs.

They agreed that the two countries should enhance bilateral cooperation in potential fields like science and technology, migration, communications, cultural exchange, education, and combating criminals.

PM Dũng also asked the UK to give priority ODA for Việt Nam in the time to come.

Ambassador Mark Andrew Geoffrey Kent vowed that, with his good sentiments for Việt Nam, he would do his utmost to further promote the flourishing relations between the two countries.

The diplomat underlined that the two sides should boost the construction of legal corridor for the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) in Việt Nam to facilitate infrastructure and trade projects in the future.
