NA targets growth rate of 7.5% in 2011

VGP – The National Assembly (NA) on Monday approved the Resolution on socio-economic development plan for 2011 with the GDP expansion at 7-7.5%.

In terms of economic restructuring, investment structure will be adjusted in each sector and field through reducing the dependence on State budget while encouraging social entities’ participation.

 The plan clearly presents key indicators. The consumer price index increase will be kept below 7%, total social investment capital will account for 40% of the GDP, total export turnover will rise by 10% against 2010, and trade deficit will not excess 18% of the country’s total export value.

Social targets include the creation of 1.6 million jobs and the poverty rate slashed down by 2%.

Some 78% of urban population will be provided with clean water, IPs and EPZs with standard sewage treatment systems reach 55%; and forest coverage 40%.
