Anh Minh wins trophy of Taiwan Amateur Golf Championship
VGP — Nguyen Anh Minh topped the 31st Taiwan Amateur Golf Championship 2024 which closed on April 12 in Kaohsiung City, Taiwan.

Minh, 17, proved himself a strong contender of the tournament at the Kaohsiung Golf & Country Club.
He was rapidly climbing from top four after the first round to top one after third round, setting up a four-point gap against the other golfers.
His last round was the most successful one as he scored 2-under 70, one of three best results of the day. With his total of 3-under 285 Minh brought the trophy home.
Cheng-Wei Hsieh of the host came second with 2-over 290, followed by Indonesian Randy who stroke 6-over 294.
It was Minh's second victory of the year following the first one at the Vietnam - Korea LSG Invitational in February.
The win will be a strong base for the teenager ahead of his larger event of Terra Cotta Invitational on April 19-21 in Florida, the US. He will then compete at the US Amateur Junior Championship and Western Amateur Championship in July and August.

On the women's side, Vietnamese representative Le Chuc An also had her best round of the week with a 1-over 73 on April 12. After four rounds, An scored 22-over 310 for a 14th place in the tally.
Top three were Chen Yu-Chu of the hosts, Kim Shihyun of South Korea and Amy Im from New Zealand.
Organising on April 9-12, the Taiwan Amateur Golf Championship was one of the top tournaments locally. Many high-ranking athletes from South Korea, Japan and Thailand teed off here.
This was the second time in a row that Viet Nam competed in Kaohsiung. Last year, Minh was also a competitor and finished at fifth position./.
