PM congratulates Khmer community on Chol Chnam Thmay 2024

VGP - Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh has sent a letter of congratulations to Khmer people, monks and nuns on the occasion of their traditional New Year festival, Chol Chnam Thmay 2024.

On behalf of Party and State leaders, the Prime Minister extended his greetings and best wishes to the Khmer people, monks and nuns.

Pham commended the contributions of the Khmer community of over 1.3 million people to the cause of national construction and defense and their observance of the Party's guidelines and the State's policies and laws.

The Government chief emphasized that the Party and State have placed great importance to ethnic and religious affairs, stressing that effective realization of policies in these areas is crucial for strengthening national unity and promoting the positive and humanitarian values of all ethnic groups.

In 2024, the 4th Congress of Ethnic Minority Representatives at the district and provincial levels will be held. With that meaning, Chol Chnam Thmay 2024 Tet brings faith and hope, creating an exciting atmosphere and new motivation.

The Prime Minister expressed his belief that Khmer people, comrades and monks would continue to promote the spirit of patriotism and tradition of solidarity, together with compatriots of all ethnic groups, to build our homeland and the country.

He called on agencies and localities with Khmer communities to actively and flexibly adopt measures to improve livelihoods, offer care to policy beneficiaries, ex-revolutionaries and their families, and disadvantaged households while upholding the role of intellectuals, respected individuals, and community leaders in the Khmer community.

Pham also urged them to ensure that the Khmer people celebrate the Chol Chnam Thmay festival in a unified, joyful, safe, economical and culturally appropriate manner./.
