In a press briefing in Hà Nội on November 8 to introduce the Vietnamese National Assembly’s activities to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the AIPA, Chairman of the NA Committee for External Affairs Nguyễn Văn Son asserted that Việt Nam’s accession to AIPA in 1995 has helped to strengthen the solidarity, friendship and mutual understanding between the Vietnamese people and other Southeast Asian peoples; boost the comprehensive cooperation among the ASEAN members, especially in economy and trade; and expand the relations between ASEAN and its partners.

To celebrate this event, the Vietnamese NA plans to hold a State-level meeting in the November 14 evening; publish some books, movies and organize photo exhibitions on the AIPA’s 30-year history and the Vietnamese NA’s role in AIPA.
