Algeria keen to foster relations with Việt Nam

VGP – A delegation of the Algerian National People's Assembly (NPA), led by President Abdelaziz Ziari started their official visit to Việt Nam on January 18-23 at the invitation of NA Chairman Nguyễn Phú Trọng.

Chiefs of the two legislative bodies held talks this morning in Hà Nội, during which Vietnamese NA Chairman Nguyễn Phú Trọng underlined his confidence that the guest’s visit would help to deepen the traditional cooperation between the two countries.

Algerian NPA President Abdellaziz Ziari placed importance on the friendship with Việt Nam, sating that Algeria would further join efforts with Việt Nam in striving for their prosperity and development.

Algeria can be a gateway for Việt Nam to enter Africa and Việt Nam can help Algerian enterprises to jump into the Asian market, hoped President Abdellaziz Ziari.

He added that Việt Nam’s renovation experience is good lessons for Algeria to develop its own market economy.

Algeria also wants to share with Việt Nam experience of negotiating for admission to the World Trade Organization (WTO).

In the afternoon of the same day, Permanent Deputy PM Nguyễn Sinh Hùng hosted a reception given to the NPA delegation.

The Deputy PM stated that the long-standing Việt Nam–Algeria relationship is a good foundation for the two countries to boost their cooperation, especially in industry, agriculture, service, culture, health care, transport, and telecommunications.

He hoped that the legislative bodies of the two countries would back the two governments to deepen socio-economic cooperation.

Deputy PM Hùng confirmed that the Government of Việt Nam will expand cooperation with Algeria in economic development and international integration.
