Art festival of five ASEAN countries 2016 in VN

VGP - An art festival with the participation of five ASEAN countries, including Viet Nam, Laos, Cambodia, Myanmar and Thailand will take place in the central province of Quang Tri from July 18-25, according to the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism’s Department of Performing Arts.

The event is meant to foster friendship and cooperation among ASEAN member states, giving Viet Nam an opportunity to popularise its art, land and people to neighboring countries.
 
Nearly 960 artists and actresses from 04 international troupes and 17 domestic troupes are scheduled to stage 221 performances which will vie for gold and silver medals.
 
Art troupes from participating countries will perform songs in praise of their own country, friendly relations among ASEAN members, especially solidarity of the five participating countries. Vietnamese art troupes will feature performances in praise of the Party, Uncle Ho and the beauty of the country and people, as well as the Vietnamese people’s aspiration for a prosperous nation, a strong country, an equitable, democratic and civilized society.
 
The festival is a continuation of the past events successfully held in Quang Tri, including the Cambodia-Laos-Myanmar-Vietnam art festival, “Trans-Asia road” and Indochinese music festivals.
 
The event is an activity of culture and arts in order to connect friendship unity and developing cooperation among ASEAN members.
 
It is a good opportunity for artists to meet and exchange arts, strengthen the relationships and solidarity among nations in ASEAN and promote mutual understanding in the field of culture.
 
The festival is organized by the Performing Arts Department, Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Quang Tri provincial Department of Culture,Sportsand Tourism, International Cooperation Department, Viet Nam Dancing Artists Association and Viet Nam Musicians Asscoiation.
