This is part of the Government’s effort after three year realization of the Resolution 30a/2008/NQ-CP to support Rapid and Sustainable Poverty Reduction in the country’s poorest districts.

Moreover, PM Nguyễn Tấn Dũng also asked for allocation of an additional volume of VND 22 trillion under ODA and Government bond projects.

In response to the Government’s effort, 40 State-owned enterprises have provided a total of VND 2,024 billion to these districts over the past three years.

As a result, the rate of poor households in the poorest districts fell down by 5% annually (compared to the preset target of 4%) to 37%.

The personal income has increased to VND 6 million in 2010 from VND 2.5 million in 2006.

The Resolution 30a/2008/NQ-CP, issued on December 27, 2008, is expected to create socioeconomic breakthroughs in the country’s poorest districts with the widespread engagement of the Party, the State, the Government, enterprises and the community.
