Brazilian man among six new cases of Covid-19

VGP – A Brazilian man and five Vietnamese citizens were confirmed positive for Covid-19 on Friday, bringing the patient tally to 1,439.

Specifically, patient 1,434 is a 28-year-old man in Le Loi Ward, Vinh city, Nghe An Province.

Patient 1,435 is a 44-year-old woman in Nguyet Hoa Commune, Chau Thanh District, Tra Vinh Province.

Both of them took flight VN50 from the UK to Can Tho on December 22 and were quarantined in Tra Vinh Province.

They are being treated at the Tra Vinh Hospital for Tuberculosis and Lung Diseases.

Earlier, four passengers onboard the flight VN50 had tested positive for the virus.

Patient 1,436 is a 44-year-old Brazilian man who flew from Qatar to Ha Noi on December 24 on flight QR8954.

He is being treated at the National Hospital for Tropical Diseases in Ha Noi’s Dong Anh District.

Patient 1,437 is a 38-year-old man in Xuan Thoi Thuong Commune, Hoc Mon District, Ho Chi Minh City.

Patient 1,438 is a 37-year-old man in Nguyen Du Ward, Hai Ba Trung District, Ha Noi.

Patient 1,439 is a 29-year-old woman in Truc Hung Commune, Truc Ninh District, Nam Dinh Province.

They were brought home from Germany to Quang Ninh Province on December 18 on flight VN5036 and quarantined in Hung Yen Province.

They are being treated at the National Hospital for Tropical Diseases in Ha Noi’s Dong Anh District.

Earlier, two passengers onboard the flight VN5036 had tested positive for the virus.

The same day, 22 more patients were declared free of Covid-19, bringing the total recoveries to 1,303.

So far Viet Nam has reported 35 Covid-19 fatalities./.
