Central province reports 14 Omicron cases
VGP – The central province of Quang Nam has reported that 14 passengers from the Republic of Korea and the U.S. tested positive for Omicron variant of the coronavirus SARS-CoV-2.

These passengers landed at Da Nang international airport on four different flights between December 21-24, the provincial Department of Health said Friday morning.
Eight of them were onboard flight VN99 from the U.S., three on flight VN417 from the Republic of Korea, two on flight VN417 from the Republic of Korea and another on flight QH951 from the Republic of Korea.
On December 28, Viet Nam confirmed the first Omicron cases in a person who returned to Viet Nam from the UK on December 19.
The Omicron variant was first detected in South Africa in late November, and labeled a “variant of concern” by the World Health Organization (WHO)./.
