CPI in Ha Noi, HCMC rises 

VGP – The Consumption Price Index (CPI) in Ho Chi Minh City in September increased 3.13% against August and up 5.13% from the same period last year, according to the city’s Statistics Office.

The sharpest price hike was recorded in education services (57.2%), the Office calculated.

Food and restaurant service expanded by 0.41%, housing, electricity and water edged up by 0.84% and other services, up 1.69%.

In the month, gold price in the city increased 0.68% while the price of USD decreased 0.85%. 

In Ha Noi, CPI rose only 0.57% from the previous month.

Education services in Ha Noi faced a rise of 2.2% due to the increasing demand at the beginning of a new school year and higher tuition fees applied by some schools.

CPI in the capital soared 5.8% in the past nine months and made a year-on-year increase of 6.68%.
