The General Statistic Office (GSO) reported that in May, CPI went up 9.05 year-on-year. The index in the January-May period rose by 8.76% against the same period last year.
Noticeably, prices of food and catering services tumbled 0.12%, food -0.12% and telecommunications -0.05%.
According to the GSO, the price hike of housing and construction materials insignificantly contributed to the general increase of CPI in May because the goods make up only 10% in the CPI structure.
This month, gold price has augmented vaguely at 1.91% compared to April. Meanwhile, the price of USD dropped by 0.63% against the previous month.
The GSO projected that in the next month, CPI would not dramatically fluctuate and the prices of petroleum may decline and rice stand stable./.
