Daily COVID-19 cases cross 100 for first time

VGP – The Ministry of Health reported 17 new COVID-19 cases on Monday evening, bringing the total number of confirmed cases during the day to 129.

This is the daily record number of cases since the first COVID-19 patient was recorded in Viet Nam on January 23, 2020.

Among the latest cases, 16 are community infections in Hung Yen (six), Da Nang (four), Bac Giang (three), Ha Noi (two), and Vinh Phuc (one).

The other is a Chinese expert who have been quarantined upon arriving in Viet Nam. He is being treated at the National Hospital for Tropical Diseases in Ha Noi’s Dong Anh District.

The same day, 16 patients were declared free of the virus, taking the total recoveries to 2,618, said the ministry.

Viet Nam has experienced the fourth wave of community transmissions since April 27, 2021, with 458 confirmed cases in 26 cities and provinces./.
