Decree on administrative violations in VN’s sea areas amended

VGP – The Government has issued a Decree on amending and supplementing Decree No. 162/2013/NĐ-CP on sanctioning administrative violations in the sea areas and the continental shelf of Viet Nam.

Accordingly, transporting, purchasing, selling and exchanging goods without sufficient documents proving the legality of the goods worth under VND10 million will lead to fines of VND3-5 million.

Fines of between VND5-10 million will be imposed on foreign boats or submarines not flying the national flag and the Vietnamese flag or flying the flags incorrectly when operating in Vietnam’s internal and territorial waters except allowed by the Vietnamese Government based on the agreements between Viet Nam and the nations occupying the boats or submarines.

The Decree will take effect from May 1, 2017.
