Tran made the suggestion on March 27 during his reception for a bipartisan U.S. congressional delegation led by Senator Kirsten Gillibrand, Chairwoman of the U.S. Senate Committee on Armed Services' Subcommittee on Emerging Threats and Capabilities.

He expected that both nations will foster practical cooperation across all sectors commensurate with the Viet Nam-U.S. comprehensive strategic partnership, contributing to promoting Viet Nam's development process.

The Deputy Prime Minister called on the U.S. to remove Viet Nam from the list of countries subject to export control restrictions on chips and semiconductors.

Kristen Gillibrand, for her part, hailed the two nations' upgrade of their ties to a comprehensive strategic partnership in September last year, which has created a foundation for the future of the bilateral relations.

The U.S. hopes to expand collaboration in all areas of economy, technology, energy and agriculture as well as new fronts such as artificial intelligence with Viet Nam, she shared./.
