The conference was jointly held by the Ministry of Industry and Trade and the World Bank (WB) on November 4 in the central city of Da Nang.

The national power system has developed remarkably, ensuring the provision of high-quality electricity, he said.

In the future, the power sector needs to renovate, identify strategies to achieve a fast and sustainable growth, provide sufficient electricity and develop new and renewable energy.

The nations’ renewable energy may increase the power production from 58 billion kWh in 2015 to 101 billion kWh by 2020, 186 billion kWh by 2030 and 452 billion kWh by 2050.

He suggested the power sector commercialize the electricity price to encourage other economic sectors, including foreign investors to invest in the power development.

The Deputy PM expressed his thanks to effective sponsor and cooperation of the WB in the sector over recent time, expecting that the WB and other international institutions will continue financial and technical assistance for the nation’s sustainable power development, contributing to realizing the Millennium Development Goal.
