Exports up 18.8% in Jan-Sep period
VGP – Viet Nam gained US$240.52 billion from exporting over the last nine months of 2021, a year-on-year increase of 18.8 percent, according to the General Statistics Office.

During January-September, Viet Nam's exports and imports from key trade partners including the U.S., China, EU, ASEAN, the Republic of Korea and Japan witness high growths compared to the same period last year despite COVID-19 outbreaks. |
During the reviewed period, 31 items posted export value of the US$1 billion each, making up 92.5 percent of the country's total export value.
The U.S. remained the largest export market of Viet Nam with US$69.8 billion, up 27.6 percent. It was followed by China US$38.5 billion, up 18.3 percent, the EU US$28.8 billion, up 11.6 percent, ASEAN US$20.6 billion, up 21.2 percent, the Republic of Korea (RoK) US$16.1 billion, up 11.4 percent and Japan US$14.7 billion, up 5.1 percent.
Meanwhile, Viet Nam’s imports hit US$242.65 billion in nine months, up 30.5 percent. China is the Viet Nam’s biggest importer with US$81.3 billion, up 41.1 percent.
As a result, the country ran a trade deficit of US$2.13 billion in nine months. The State sector announced the excess of imports over exports worth US$21 billion while the foreign-invested sector declared the trade surplus of US$18.87 billion.
