FDI attraction fetches US$ 15.67 bln in H1

VGP - As of June 20, total FDI registration capital, adjusted capital, and capital for purchasing shares in Viet Nam valued US$ 15.67 billion, equivalent to 84.9% of the same period last year, the Ministry of Planning and Investment (MoPI) reported.

In June, the country absorbed US$ 1.79 billion of FDI, representing a year-on-year growth of 3.1%. Up to 206 FDI projects got investment licenses worth US$ 997.1 million, up 4.5% against the same period last year. 

Director of the Industrial Statistics Department Pham Dinh Thuy assessed that the FDI inflow was positive in June after months of declines due to the COVID-19 pandemic. 

Total amount of FDI disbursement hit US$ 8.65 billion, equivalent to 95.1% against the same period last year./.
