Fisheries ministry to take part in Mekong Fisheries Program in stage 2

VNGOP – Upon the proposal of the Ministry of Planning and Investment (Document 3393/BKH-KTĐN dated May 18, 2007) on the participation of the Mekong Fisheries Program (stage 2), Deputy PM Phạm Gia Khiêm, acting on behalf of the PM, agreed that the Ministry of Fisheries will function as Vietnam's central agency to implement the Program.

The Deputy PM entrusted the Ministry of Fisheries and relevant localities to allocate their corresponding capital for activities within the Program in line with the instructions of the Ministry of Finance stipulated in Document 5860/BTC-HCSN on May 04, 2007.

The Mekong Fisheries Program was funded by the Danish Government for Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos, and Thailand under an agreement signed between the Mekong River Commission and the Danish Government on December 01, 2005.
