FM Spokesperson announces information on citizen killed in Philippines

VGP – Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Le Thi Thu Hang on July 12 confirmed that a Vietnamese citizen was killed in the Philippine military's attacks on the Abu Sayyaf terrorist group.

“I am deeply distressing to acknowledge that a Vietnamese citizen, named Tran Viet Van, was dead after the attacks of the Philippine army on the Abu Sayyaf terrorist group.

We would like to send our deepest condolences to the family of Mr. Tran Viet Van and hope that the family will soon overcome the huge losses to stabilize their life,” she said

The Vietnamese Embassy in the Philippines is cooperating with functional and local agencies to complete forensic and legal procedures and support the family to prepare the funeral services for the victim.
