Foreign ministry asked to focus on research, strategic advices

VGP – The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) needs to strengthen research and strategic advices to promote the country's relationship with its partners and actively and effectively contribute to international and regional forums to heighten the nation’s status.

State President Truong Tan Sang made the request while addressing the 28th Diplomatic Conference in Ha Noi on December 19, which discussed the role played by the sector in performing the national defense task.

Applauding the diplomatic sector’s contributions to protecting the country’s independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity, and ensuring national interests, the State President asked the MFA to actively implement the resolutions of the 11th National Party Congress and flexibly put diplomatic policies into reality.

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh also asked the diplomatic sector to cooperate with ministries, agencies and localities to launch missions and tasks the Party and State have assigned them
