Former US President Clinton to visit Vietnam

On December 1, the spokesman of the Vietnam Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Lê Dũng, revealed that the former US President, Mr. William J. Clinton, Head of the William J. Clinton Foundation, will visit Vietnam on December 5-6, 2006 as part of his Asia working tour designed to strengthen cooperation with these countries under the program Clinton Foundation HIV/AIDS Initiative (CHAI).

During his stay in Việt nam, Mr. Bill Clinton will have a meeting with Vietnamese State President  Nguyễn Minh Triết. He also plans to sign with Vietnamese Minister of Health Trần Thị Trung Chiến an agreement between the CHAI and the Vietnamese Ministry of Health on additional provision of medicines for treatment of all Vietnamese HIV/AIDS-infected children. He will have a talk with Vietnamese students on HIV/AIDS prevention.
