Further renovate administrative procedures in taxation and customs

VGP – The Việt Nam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI), Ministry of Finance, General Department of Taxation (GDT) and the General Department of Customs (GDC) jointly organized this morning a dialogue with the business community about administrative procedures reform in the fields of taxation and customs.

The customs sector plans to raise the percentage of e-customs documents to 80% within 2009

In 2008, the taxation sector revised and supplemented many tax formalities in order to save time and costs for tax payers.

By the end of 2008, nearly 60% of customs papers were finished online. Most of enterprises stated that the modernization of customs helped to facilitate their activities.

The reform of taxation and customs procedures is very essential in 2009 because it can contribute to the prevention of economic slump, support enterprises’ development, and promote production and business.

Mr. Phạm Duy Khương, Deputy Head of GDT, revealed that, in 2009, the taxation sector will further renovate tax payment process. The sector will encourage tax consultancy; enlarge the tax payment network; renew taxation vouchers; and abrogate the verification of invoice of tax return.

Meanwhile, the customs sector plans to further make customs regulations transparent and simple; share information with relevant agencies to perfect the risk management system; and raise the percentage of e-customs documents to 80% within 2009.
