Government Inspector General visits Sweden

VNGOP - Government Inspector General Trần Văn Truyền led a high-ranking delegation of Vietnamese inspectors in a working visit to Sweden from June 10-14. This is the first visit made by Vietnam's Government Inspector General to Sweden in order to put into reality a program entitled "Strengthening Comprehensive Capacity of the Inspectorate System" that runs until 2010.

During his stay in Stockholm, the Inspector General had working sessions with Kerstin André, General Parliamentary Ombudsman; Gunilla Carlsson, Minister of International Development Cooperation, and Joakim Stymne, Deputy Foreign Minister in charge of development cooperation. He also met with representatives of the Swedish International Development Agency (SIDA), anti-corruption agency and the development cooperation agency of the Swedish police. At the meetings, the two sides shared experience in inspection work, anti-corruption in State agencies and discussed measures to boost cooperation between Vietnam and Sweden, particularly in areas that would improve on the Vietnamese inspectorate sector’s capacity.
