Gov't tightens control over smuggling, trade fraud and counterfeit

VNGOP – Acting on behalf of the PM, Standing Deputy PM Nguyễn Sinh Hùng directed the competent forces at all echelons to tighten the inspection and fighting against smuggling, trade frauds and counterfeits at border gates, airports and domestic markets.

The northern provinces were ordered to promote the prevention of illegal import of forbidden goods, counterfeit money, fowls and food of unknown origin as well as illegal export of ores and wild animals.

The border gates in Central and South Vietnam should strictly check and control the temporary admission and re-export of automobiles; fight against the smuggling and illegal import of foreign alcohols, cigarettes, electronic products, domestic utensils and the illegal export of oil products.

The Deputy PM entrusted the Ministries of Trade, Finance, and Planning and Investment to issue specific documents instructing the grant of tax incentive status in the border-gate economic zones.

The ministries of Transport and Finance were assigned to collaborate in facilitating the performance of customs forces at airports and seaports and boosting administrative procedure reform in order to effective tighten inspection and control over trade frauds.
