High-level VFF delegation visits Cambodia

VNGOVNet – A senior delegation of the Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) headed by VFF President Phạm Thế Duyệt paid an official visit to Cambodia on April 05-09 at the invitation of Mr. Heng Samrin, Chairman of the Solidarity Front for the Development of the Cambodian Motherland.

In the official talks between the two delegations, Chairman Heng Samrin and Chairman Phạm Thế Duyệt exchanged experience in uniting the nation and gathering social forces for the sake of national development. The two Chairmen agreed to boost cooperative activities between the two Fronts and mass organizations, contributing to the intensified friendly neighborhood.

The two countries' fatherland fronts also agreed to suggest the two Governments organize the Day for Vietnam-Cambodia Solidarity and Friendship as a part of the 40th anniversary of diplomatic tie between the two countries. The Cambodian Front thanked the VNFF's support and help to fulfill its role in the past struggle for national independence, unity, conciliation and the current national development.

During the stay in Cambodia, the VNFF delegation had a meeting with King Norodom Sihamoni and paid courtesy visits to Senate President Chea Sim, PM Hun Sen and Supreme Patriarch Tep Vong.

In the meetings, Cambodian leaders expressed their gratitude to Vietnam's Communist Party, State and people for their great sacrifices to help the Cambodian people escape from genocide.
