How to bring foreigner’s bone-ash out of VN

VGP – If a foreigner wants to bring his relatives’ bone-ash out of Việt Nam’s territory, he has to ask Vietnamese competent agencies for permission and help.

Question (Mrs. Sara, a Canadian resident in Hồ Chí Minh City): My grandfather died and was cremated in Việt Nam. What agencies should I need to contact if I want to bring my grandfather’s bone-ash back Canada.

According to the Consular Department, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mrs. Sara should contact with the following competent agencies in Hồ Chí Minh City (HCMC):
