China also needs to clarify the number of vessels, aircrafts, military vessels deployed near drilling rig and provocative actions such as ramming, firing water cannon at Viet Nam law enforcement vessels, which caused craft damage and posed risks of casualties as well as attacks on Vietnamese fishing vessels since May 7, 2014.

IADL called upon China, as a member of the United Nations and one of the five permanent members of the Unite Nations Security Council to fully respect, comply with and uphold the United Nations Charter.

China must act as a power as well as a member of the Security Council, who plays a significant role in keeping and protecting regional and world peace, stability and security.

IADL reminded that all parties have a duty of peaceful resolution of disputes as well as of compliance with the 1982 UNCLOS, to which China is a signatory.

IADL urged China to respect international law to cease and refrain from complicating the situation in the East Sea and escalating tension in the region for such doing would pose a threat to security and navigation safety in the East Sea./.
