The latest survey canvassed more than 800 decision makers in the private-equity business in the second quarter of 2011 found that 53% of respondents showed their optimism about business prospects in the Southeast Asian nation, 54% considered Việt Nam as an attractive investment destination, and 53% worked on plans to expand investment scale in the next 12 months.

According to Grant Thornton Việt Nam, education is the most attractive field for investment instead of retail sales as it was found in the previous survey.

Investors are also interested in other fields like petrol, fuel, natural resources, and agriculture.

However, respondents blamed rigid administrative procedures and poor infrastructure for hindering their investment expansion in Việt Nam./.
