Participants agreed that the biggest outcome that the strategy has attained so far is to improve significantly grass-roots awareness of the need to carry out the justice reform.

With the reform, the number of wrongful and outstanding lawsuits had dropped dramatically.

However, the implementation of the strategy has still slowed, the participants noted, attributing it to a number of Party members’ failure to fully understand the significance of the justice reform.

Chairing the session, State President Nguyen Minh Triet, Head of the Central Steering Committee for Justice Reform referred to limited investment in the judicial sector’s facilities and rampant corruption as other reasons behind slow implementation of the strategy.

The participants unanimously stressed the need to establish an Academy of Justice as one of future solutions to meet requirements for the justice reform and international integration in the field.
