Learning center opened for Huế’s poor children

VGP - A learning center for poor children made its debut last weekend in Diệu Viên Pagoda of Thùy Dương Commune, Hương Thủy District in Thừa Thiên-Huế Province. The center was jointly built by FPT joint-stock company and a Singaporean non-profit organization, Gentle Fund Organization (GFO).

The GFO-Diệu Viên Center is set to help children improve their basic knowledge of English, informatics and other social subjects.

The center is the second founded and run by GFO in Việt Nam, after one in Hồ Chí Minh City.

The center will apply some learning-playing programs through which children can accumulate necessary life skills and access to vocational training programs for better job opportunities.

FPT Company agreed to donate 18 computers and a server to the center.

GFO gathers of 700 young volunteers from Việt Nam, Singapore and other countries. The organization raises money from businesses to finance the study of poor children.
