More communication projects to be invested to 2020

VNGOP – The PM signed on April 11 Decision 412/QĐ-TTg approving the investment list for some projects on vital communication structure in the period to 2020.

Accordingly, the total investment is estimated to be US$ 67,570 million, including US$ 4,418 million under the projects with investment licenses or borrowing agreements. The PM ordered to mobilize all resources to build communication infrastructure, focusing on important projects to speed up the cause of national industrialization and modernization. It is also necessary to maintain and upgrade the existing communication infrastructure.

In the Decision, some specific targets are also set. Up to 2010, some new sections of the North-South Highway (Hanoi-Hồ Chí Minh City-Cần Thơ), some highways along the Vietnam-China economic belt and within major economic zones; Vân Phong International Container Transshipment Port (Khánh Hòa Province) and the northern gateway port in Lạch Huyện (Hải Phòng City) and the passages for high-tonnage ships in the Hậu River will be built.

Between 2010 and 2020, highways along the Vietnam-China economic belt  will be completed; a new highway built linking Dầu Giây (Bình Dương Province) and Đà Lạt (Lâm Đồng Province); the construction of a railway to aluminum exploitation and production in the Central Highlands finsihed; and an international airport built in Long Thành (Đồng Nai Province).
