More funding for AO victims in Da Nang

VGP – A program themed “love and connectivity” was held in the central city of Da Nang to mark the Children’s Day (June 1) and Day for Vietnamese Victims of Agent Orange (August 10).

During the program, a number of local residents, organizations and enterprises directly granted over VND 4.7 billion and US$3,000 to Da Nang to support the city’s victims of Agent Orange.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Hien, Chairman of the Da Nang Association for Victims of Agent Orange said thanks to kind assistance, local victims have accessed to better medical treatment, entertainment, and living skills training.

Hien said the city will build a center for toxic decontamination and rehabilitation for victims of Agent Orange in July this year. The project has total investment of VND 2.7 billion.

At present, Da Nang is home to over 5,000 victims of Agent Orange, including 1,400 children. Particularly, many households have two or three generations exposed to Agent Orange./.
