More social housing developments completed

VGP – Some 40% of the 2011 target of building 87 million square meters of housing have been finished, reported the Ministry of Construction.

Việt Nam has around 632 new urban area projects of which 538 are less than 200 hectares. Many of them are for urban low-income households and students.

At local level, 70% of the poor households received housing assistance and the figure is expected to increase to 100% by the end of this year.

Moreover, 25 projects on building accommodations for workers in centralized industrial parks have also been kick-started with nine completed, benefiting nearly 129,000 workers.
