More than 300 citizens fly home from Chinese Taipei

VGP – A Viet Nam Airlines flight carrying more than 300 citizens from Chinese Taipei landed at Tan Son Nhat International Airport in Ho Chi Minh City on Monday, reported the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The passengers include children aged below 18, the elderly, pregnant women, the elderly, workers with expired contracts, tourists stranded in the territory.

To ensure health of the passengers, precautious measures were implemented during the flight and all the passengers were quarantined in accordance with the nation’s current regulations.

This is the 58th rescue flight arranged since April 10, bringing home 14,143 citizens from foreign countries and territories, official data showed.

As the country has put the COVID-19 pandemic under control, the Government urged relevant authorities to organize more repatriation flights in the coming time.

Since the first COVID-19 case was confirmed on January 23, Viet Nam has reported a total of 384 patients, of whom 244 are imported cases, said the National Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control led by Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam.

Of the patient tally, 360 have been cleared of the virus as of 6:5pm on Monday, the committee added./.
