National patient tally surpasses 800,000

VGP – The Ministry of Health confirmed 5,490 new COVID-19 cases on Saturday, raising the national patient tally to 803,202.

The number of daily new COVID-19 cases from September 15-October 2.

The latest patients consist of 13 imported cases and 5,477 domestic infections in Ho Chi Minh City (2,723), Binh Duong (1,517), Dong Nai (509), An Giang (139), Long An (107), Kien Giang (77), Dak Lak (59), Binh Thuan (47), Ha Nam (42), Khanh Hoa (36), Tien Giang (36), Can Tho (23), Tay Ninh (20), Ninh Thuan (16), Quang Binh (15), Ha Noi (14), Quang Tri (13), Quang Ngai (12), Nghe An (10), Dak Nong (7), Bac Giang (6), Dong Thap (6), Hau Giang (5), Phu Tho (5), Binh Dinh (5), Vinh Long (4), Ca Mau (3), Bac Lieu (3), Ba Ria-Vung Tau (30, Phu Yen (2), Nam Dinh (2), Binh Phuoc (2), Quang Ninh (2), Hung Yen (1), Tra Vinh (1), Da Nang (1), Hai Duong (1), Lam Dong (1), Gia Lai (1) and Ninh Binh (1)

The national caseload includes 798,626 locally transmitted cases recorded in 62 cities and provinces since April 27 when the fourth COVID-19 wave began.

Twelve out of the above localities have gone 14 days without new local infection: Bac Kan, Tuyen Quang, Lai Chau, Hoa Binh, Yen Bai, Ha Giang, Thai Nguyen, Dien Bien, Hai Phong, Ninh Binh, Thai Binh and Lang Son.

The same day, the ministry reported 28,857 new recoveries, taking the total number of recovered cases to 664,938.

The ministry also announced 164 fatalities recorded in Ho Chi Minh City (123), Binh Duong (24), Dong Nai (5), Long An (5), Kien Giang (2), Quang Ngai (1), Tien Giang (1), An Giang (1), Binh Thuan (1) and Can Tho (1), bringing the death toll to 19,601.

To date, Viet Nam administered 43,658,818 COVID-19 vaccine doses, with 10,126,423 people having been fully vaccinated./.
