These localities are Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC), Binh Duong, Dong Nai, Can Tho, Binh Phuoc, Tay Ninh, Ba Ria-Vung Tau, Tien Giang, Long An, Vinh Long, Dong Thap, Ben Tre, Hau Giang, An Giang, Bac Lieu, Soc Trang, Tra Vinh, Ca Mau and Kien Giang.
All of these localities are placed under social distancing in accordance with the Government’s Directive No. 16 to contain COVID-19.
Of the allocated figure, a total of 1,843,849 vaccine doses were administered, with 121,359 people fully vaccinated as of July 22.
HCMC has received 2,358,790 doses and administered 1,039,652, accounting for 44.1 percent. As many as 62,234 people in the city were fully vaccinated.
As of 6:00 am on July 24, Viet Nam confirmed 86,957 infection cases, including 83,242 locally-transmitted cases documented in 62 cities and provinces since late April when the fourth COVID-19 wave hit the Southeast Asian country.
HCMC remains the current biggest coronavirus hotspot in Viet Nam with 52,544 domestic infection cases, followed by Binh Duong (6,499), Long An (3,856), Dong Nai (1,864) and Dong Thap (1,823)./.
