Nearly 600 nationals fly home from three continents

VGP - A Viet Nam Airline flight carrying nearly 350 Vietnamese nationals from Europe and Africa landed at HCMC-based Tan Son Nhat Airport International Airport on August 27.

The passengers came from over 20 countries including children aged below 18, the elderly, pregnant women, the sick, workers with expired labor contracts, those without residences and other especially disadvantaged cases.

Due to travel restrictions amidst the pandemic time, Vietnamese representative offices provided necessary instructions for the passengers to be present at Frankfurt airport in Germany. 

Upon their arrival, the passengers and flight crew were medically checked and quarantined in accordance with the current regulations on COVID-19 responses.​

The same day, another flight of the national flag carrier brought home more than 250 citizens from the Republic of Korea.

After landing at the Cam Ranh International Airport in Khanh Hoa Province, all the passengers were sent to centralized quarantine camp.

So far, Viet Nam has organized 109 rescue flights to repatriate 31,038 citizens stranded abroad due to COVID-19./.
