New medical fees take effect in mid-April

VGP - The Ministries of Health and Finance issued Joint Circular No. 04/2012/TTLT- BYT- BTC setting new fees for 447 medical services at public hospitals.

These price hikes were approved by the Prime Minister in February.

The new fees will officially be applied on April 15, replacing the current rates listed in Circular No. 14/TTLB issued in 1995 and Circular No. 03/2006/TTLT from 2006.

Accordingly, fees for the 447 specified services will increase 30-40% above their current rates. For example, health checkups at central hospitals will increase from VND3,000 to a maximum of VND20,000, while the cost of dialysis will rise from VND150,000-300,000 to VND430,000-460,000.

The new prices, which are being raised because of inflation, are expected to improve medical facilities and services./.
