One Imported Case of COVID-19 Takes National Tally to 2,785

VGP – A Vietnamese man brought home from Japan was confirmed positive for COVID-19 on Monday morning, raising the national caseload to 2,785.

The latest patient is a 39-year-old man from Cam Giang, Hai Duong province.

He is being treated at the Da Nang Hospital for Lung Diseases.

Among the national tally, 1,570 are locally-transmitted cases, including 910 documented since January 27 when the third wave of local transmissions began.

The number of recovered patients now stands at 2,475 and the death toll remains at 35.

Of the current patients, 11 have tested negative for the novel coronavirus once, 16 twice and 18 thrice.

Since the country launched mass COVID-19 vaccination program on March 8, over 79,182 frontline workers had been vaccinated in 22 provinces and cities. 

A total 40,150 people who had been in close contact with COVID-19 patients or arrived from pandemic-hit areas are being quarantined across the country, with 531 at hospitals, 24,361 at concentrated facilities and 15,258 at home or accommodations./.
