One more Coronavirus-related death, 194 new COVID-19 cases reported

VGP – The Ministry of Health confirmed 194 new COVID-19 cases over the last 18 hours, raising the national patient tally to 10,435.

The latest patients include four Vietnamese returnees. One of them was repatriated from Japan on May 29 and three returned to Viet Nam via the Moc Bai international bordergate in the southern province of Tay Ninh on June 10.

All the others are local infections recorded in Bac Ninh (38), Bac Giang (96), Ho Chi Minh City (51), Lang Son (two), Ha Noi (two), and Phu Tho (one).

The ministry also reported that a 76-year-old man in Bac Ninh became the latest Coronavirus-related fatality, raising the death toll to 59.

He was admitted to the locality’s Thuan Thanh district medical center on May 8 after experiencing high fever at home for three days. He was diagnosed with pnemonia and sent to Gia Binh field hospital for further treatment.

On May 21, he vomited blood and was transferred to Bac Ninh provincial General Hospital where he was dignosed with pneunomia and rheumatoid arthritis.

On May 23, he tested positive for COVID-19 and his heatlh continued to worsen.

On June 3, he was transferred to the National Hospital for Tropical Diseases in Ha Noi’s Dong Anh district, where he was diagnosed with septic shock, multi-organ failure, severe pneumonia caused by SARS-CoV-2, rheumatoid arthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, and duodenal ulcer.

He passed away on Saturday morning./.
