Over 2 mil. turns of foreign tourist arrive VN in early 2007

VNGOP – In the first six months of 2007, the number of international visitors to Việt Nam reached 2,117,466, increasing by 14.7 percent against the same period of last year and accounting for a half of the yearly plan. The number of domestic tourists was estimated to be 9 million turns.

The big tourist centers saw a strong growth of international visitors. For example, Hồ Chí Minh City received nearly 1.28 million turns, rising up by 11.3 percent; Hà Nội welcomed 657,800 turns, increasing by 14.6 percent; the northeastern province of Quảng Ninh 767,470 turns and 40 percent; Hải Phòng City 360,000 turns and 20.45 percent.

The sector's revenue in the first half of the year was estimated to reach VND 28 trillion.
