Others to the event included General Secretary of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party (LPRP) and State President Choummaly Sayasone and other Lao senior officials.

Speaking at the session, President of Lao National Assembly Pany Yathotou welcomed the current visit made by the Vietnamese Party leader, saying the visit helped consolidate the pure and faithful solidarity and friendship between the two countries.

He went on to note the significance of the visit as it took place following successful National Party Congresses and NA elections in both countries and when there arose complicated developments in the regional and international situation.

In his remarks, Party General Secretary and NA Chairman Trọng expressed his belief that under the LPRP’s sound leadership, the Government’s effective management and direction, and the National Assembly’s supervision, the Lao people would continue to reap greater achievements in its renewal process and heighten its role on the international arena.

The Vietnamese leader re-affirmed Việt Nam’s consistent desire to consolidate and expand the traditional friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation with Laos.
