Party, State leaders commemorate heroes and martyrs

VGP - A delegation from the Party Central Committee, State, National Assembly, Government and Vietnam Fatherland Front on July 27 in Hà Nội laid a wreath and offered incense at the Monument to Heroes and Martyrs on the occasion of 64th War Invalids and Martyrs’ Day.

Among the attendants were Party General Secretary Nguyễn Phú Trọng, State President Trương Tấn Sang, Prime Minister Nguyễn Tấn Dũng and NA Chairman Nguyễn Sinh Hùng.

The delegation also paid tribute to President Hồ Chí Minh at his mausoleum.

On the same day, delegations from the Ministries of National Defense; Security; and Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs and the Hà Nội Party Committee and People’s Committee laid wreaths and offered incense in commemoration of martyrs.

According to the Hồ Chí Minh Communist Youth Union Central Committee, on the evening of July 26, incense offering and candle lighting ceremonies simultaneously took place at 2,098 martyrs’ cemeteries nationwide to pay tribute to those who sacrificed their lives for the country’s independence.
