Mainly engaging in popularizing English language globally, the British Council has trained and bettered English skills for a large number of Vietnamese teachers and students. The Council has also recently signed with the Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs an agreement on training cooperation with Vietnamese vocational schools and universities.

Mr. Martin Davidon revealed that over 36,000 Vietnamese students are studying in the UK and that the British Council wants to boost up the exchange of students and researchers between the two countries.

The UK and Việt Nam could increasingly become closer partners through educational and cultural cooperation, said the guest.

Acknowledging the blooming cooperation between the two countries in many fields, including economics, culture and diplomacy, Deputy PM Nguyễn Sinh Hùng praised the British Council for its significant contributions to the UK-Việt Nam bilateral relationship.

He stated that Việt Nam is paying great attention to nurturing a high-quality pool of laborers for its national socio-economic development, and foreign languages, especially English, is always a priority.
