PetroVietnam pumps oil in Russia

VGP - The Việt Nam National Oil and Gas Group (PetroVietnam) and its Russian partner OAO Zarubezneft, in the joint venture Rusvietpetro on July 29 pumped the first oil from the Visovoi oil field in Nhenhetxky region, Russia.

The joint venture currently pumps out over 6,000 tons of oil, or 44,000 barrels a day from the oil field. It plans to make an oil output of 1.51 million tons or 11 million barrels valued at some US$1.1 billion in 2011.

Rusvietpetro is scheduled to raise its output to 2.08 million tons of oil or 15 million barrels in 2012, equivalent to 14% of the total amount of crude oil exploited in Việt Nam next year.

PetroVietnam has invested in 25 oil and gas projects in 17 countries in the world, including those in South America, Russia, North Africa, the Middle East and Southeast Asia. It plans to pump out 40-45 million tons of oil in the 2011-2015 period.
